Makati (AP) -- Ever since taking over the reins of the new expansion team, Filcosplay Freelancers Xp, playing coach Kero Chan has implemented a new, high-octane offense that's led to some startling results. Stressing unselfish play and blistering fast breaks, Filcosplay Freelancers Xp has buried opponents with tremendous leads that have left their opponents in the dust.
How effective is this strategy? In the last 13 games, the Filcosplay Freelancers Xp has scored an average of 146 points per game while allowing only an average of 60 points per game - that's an astounding winning margin of 86 points per game! "We just pull out all the stops from the get-go," Chan explained. "From the first quarter to the last, we give it our all, and the results have been great so far."
Chan's own play has benefited from this strategy as well. He's averaged 30.7 points, 1 steal, 8.2 assists, 5.7 offensive rebounds, and 10.2 defensive rebounds since moving to the Filcosplay Freelancers Xp. Other players have also stepped up their game. In fact, Kero Chan, Noir Valentine, and Retsuya Aoyama have all made it into the running for the Division MVP, with Erlou Maturan soon to make the list as well.
At this point, the Filcosplay Freelancers Xp seems to be unstoppable, holding a solid 2-game lead over the second-placed Cadiz Hounds with a record of 36 wins and 4 losses. At this rate, they're the heavy favorites to stay perched at first place until the end of the season. "We should still remain vigilant," Chan warns. "The season ain't over yet, and we don't intend to put our guard down now. We're set to take the streak all the way to the end of this season and into the next."
